Over the nearly 10 years that Becky and I have been married, we’ve tried a few different sugar cookie recipes. Recently, she tried a new one. I’m hooked. She loves the recipe because they look perfect and beautiful. I love it because they taste as good as they look.
The Sugar Cookies
[su_box title=”Ingredients” color=”#dbdbdb”]
- 3 3/4 cups Flour
- 1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Butter or Margarin (unsalted)
- 1 1/2 cups Sugar
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 2 Eggs
[/su_box]
Dough is fragile and gentleness is required to prevent tearing as you lay out the sheets for making shapes. Bake at 375º for 8-9 minutes.
The Frosting (from C&H Powdered Sugar)
[su_box title=”Ingredients” color=”#dbdbdb”]
- 1 lb Powdered Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1/3 cup Butter (salted)
[/su_box]
The real secret to getting these cookies to look so nice is the frosting. After putting it on, it softens and evens itself over the surface of the cookies making it look smooth and delicious.
